The members of the SARGADOM research project are committed to bringing you live coverage of international negotiations on ocean, climate and biodiversity. During major international meetings (the latest being the International Seabed Authority negotiations), delegations of researchers are accredited as observers to report on these crucial discussions, which will have an impact on the level of protection of marine biodiversity, with an expert’s eye, and a decoding of the issues at stake is also offered before, during and after the events. By recording oceanographic parameters and ambient sound in the waters of the Thermal Dome, an advanced observation system composed of underwater robots will provide scientists with a detailed three-dimensional view of the properties of this part of the ocean, which is of high ecological and economic importance to the region.

UNOC3, the UN conference dedicated to SDG14, is a major event that will take place in France from the end of May 2025. A series of related events will be organized over the nexty month.
Following its first iteration in October 2023 (Edinburgh, UK), the second BBNJ Symposium will take place from 18 to 19 February 2025 in Singapore. Part of the team makes the trip to attend the event and organize side events.

From September 17 to 20, SARGADOM took part in this conference dedicated to ocean governance in the South Pacific and Latin America.
