This week, all project partners are taking part in the IUCN High Seas Workshop on area-based management tools in areas beyond national jurisdiction. This annual meeting has adapted from the draft BBNJ process to the adopted agreement, and focuses on capacity building for the implementation of the agreement and, in general, support for biodiversity management on the high seas. It brings together experts on the high seas, including scientists, representatives of intergovernmental organizations, and legal and political experts. Later this week, the SARGADOM project will also hold its Advisory Board and Steering Committee meeting for the project’s third year.
