Members of the SARGADOM project, including the MarViva team, will be taking part in this scientific conference, and will have the opportunity to present their latest work on the Thermal Dome.
Wednesday December 4, from 9:00 to 9:30 AM Jorge Jimenez will give a plenary keynote in the Educación Continua auditorium.
His talk will be followed by a presentation by Nadège Legroux (9:30-9:45 AM), a close associate of the project who dedicated her thesis to the study of the Commons and the ocean, with a focus on the protection of marine biodiversity in offshore areas. Her talk will focus on “A social history of the Thermal Dome: Uses and governance challenges of a offshore space in the Eastern Tropical Pacific”.
The following presentation will give an update on the Dome expedition and the Argo Float project – 9:45-10:00 AM by Addy Echeverria, Pelagos Okeanos.
Participation in collaboration with CIMAR (Centro de Investigación en Ciencias del Mar y Limnología / Research Center in Sciences of the Sea and Limnology) of the University of Costa Rica.
